Jujutsu Incremental Mastery System
The hidden multiplier under your Technique — mastery makes a B-tier kit outperform an A-tier kit that has not been mastered.
Mastery in Jujutsu Incremental is a hidden or under-discussed progression multiplier that increases your Technique, Clan, and Trait effectiveness the more you use them in combat. It is not displayed prominently in the UI, but it is present in the combat log: a kit that has been used for fifty hours will produce slightly different numbers than the same kit used for five hours. This is the mastery curve.
This page is for players who have passed the beginner stage and want to understand why two accounts with identical tier list pieces perform differently in raid bosses. If you are still learning the train, fight, quest, roll, raid loop from how to play, come back here after your first prestige.
What mastery does
Mastery is a usage-based multiplier. Each time you press your Technique in combat, complete a raid with your Clan active, or trigger your Trait in a relevant situation, you accumulate mastery points. These points do not show as a visible bar in the default UI, but they affect:
- Technique output — a mastered Technique deals more damage or applies stronger effects than an unmastered copy of the same tier.
- Clan efficiency — a mastered Clan passive produces a stronger effect or costs less cursed energy to maintain.
- Trait trigger rate — a mastered Trait has a slightly higher activation chance or stronger effect when it procs.
The practical difference: a B-tier Technique with high mastery will outperform an A-tier Technique with low mastery in sustained content. This is why tier list ranks are a starting point, not a guarantee.
How to farm mastery efficiently
Mastery accumulates through usage, not through passive training ticks. You cannot mastery a kit by letting the client idle. The correct farming method:
- Lock a kit — pick a Technique, Clan, and Trait trio from the best builds page and commit to it for the session.
- Run raids — raid bosses are the highest mastery-per-combat-minute activity because every phase transition triggers your full kit.
- Avoid kit switching — every time you switch to a different Technique, you start the mastery curve over on the new kit while the old kit’s mastery goes dormant.
- Track your logs — if the combat log shows a noticeable damage increase on your Technique over a week of consistent use, that is mastery accumulating.
The session checklist includes a “do not switch kits mid-session” box for exactly this reason. Kit switching is the single most common mastery mistake.
Mastery and prestige
The prestige guide covers what carries over after a full account reset. Based on standard Roblox incremental patterns, mastery typically resets on prestige because it is tied to the current run’s usage data. This means:
- After a prestige, your Technique damage will feel lower until the mastery curve rebuilds.
- The tier list pieces you locked before prestige are still the same tier; only the mastery is new.
- The second run is faster to the same mastery threshold because you are running content more efficiently with better baseline pieces.

Mastery and party roles
The best builds page describes carry, breaker, anchor, and flex jobs. Mastery affects each role differently:
- Carry — benefits most from Technique mastery because every press of the nuke amplifies the output. The carry’s mastery curve is the steepest.
- Breaker — benefits from Clan and Trait mastery because pressure and status effects scale with passive triggers, not with active Technique presses.
- Anchor — benefits from Clan mastery because the sustain passive is always on during a raid.
- Flex — benefits from Trait mastery because the flex role triggers effects situationally rather than linearly.
When you are building a raid party, ask whether each member is mastered in their role, not just whether they have an S Technique. An A-tier Technique with high mastery is often more effective than an S-tier Technique with zero mastery.
What we will not invent
We will not publish exact mastery curves or point values because Candescent Games has not published those numbers publicly. We will not claim that mastery doubles or triples output unless the combat log consistently shows that in the Candescent client. If a YouTube video shows a mastery table for another jujutsu incremental, it belongs to that game.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How do I see my mastery level?
The mastery is not displayed as a visible bar in the default UI. The evidence of mastery is in the combat log: a kit that has been used for fifty hours will produce different numbers than the same kit at five hours. Track your logs on the session checklist.
Does mastery reset after a prestige?
Yes, based on standard Roblox incremental patterns. Your Technique, Clan, and Trait tiers carry over, but the usage-based mastery data resets. See the prestige guide.
Should I mastery a B-tier kit or keep hunting for A-tier?
Mastery a B-tier kit you are comfortable with while you farm for A-tier. A mastered B-kit outperforms an unmastered A-kit in sustained content. See the tier list and best builds.
How does mastery affect party composition?
Ask whether each raid member is mastered in their role, not just whether they have an S Technique. An A-tier Technique with high mastery is often more effective than an S-tier Technique with zero mastery. See the best builds and raid bosses.
