Jujutsu Incremental Arc Progression and Story Bosses
Navigate the arc system from Arc 1 through post-Arc 10 — when to push, when to farm, and when prestige makes sense.
Arc progression in Jujutsu Incremental is the story layer that gates high-level content behind named bosses and quest chains. The live title is currently [UPD 2] Jujutsu Incremental, which means the arc system has been in the client since launch and has received at least one balance pass. Understanding arcs is essential for knowing when to keep grinding versus when the prestige window opens.
This page assumes you have locked a Technique on the tier list and understand the core loop from how to play. If you do not know what arc you are on, open the in-game menu and look for a chapter indicator or story tracker.
How arcs work
Each arc in Jujutsu Incremental represents a chapter of the Jujutsu storyline translated into incremental mechanics. Arcs typically gate three things:
- New enemy tiers — harder enemies drop better loot and more EXP.
- Story quest chains — completing an arc unlocks the next questline with exclusive rewards.
- Raid boss access — some raid bosses are locked behind specific arc completions.
The arc you are on determines the difficulty of your training, the quality of your quests, and whether a raid is worth your evening. If you are farming Arc 5 enemies but your Technique is Arc 3-gated, you are wasting EXP rate.
Arc 1–5: Foundation phase
The early arcs teach you the loop without punishing you for bad rolls. This is where most players:
- Lock their first Technique from the tier list.
- Claim the group EXP boost.
- Redeem Settings codes.
- Build their first best build.
If you are stuck in Arc 1–5, the problem is almost never arc-gated. It is a rolling problem or a missing group EXP boost. Push through with a B-tier kit if you must, but do not prestige before Arc 5 unless you have no viable Technique at all.
Arc 6–10: The wall
Arc 6–10 is where most players hit the progression wall. Boss HP scales faster than Technique output. The tier list matters here because kits that worked in Arc 5 will start to feel slow in Arc 8+.
Key checkpoints:
- Arc 6 — First meaningful difficulty spike. Re-test your Technique on a dummy. If it feels weak, this is your last cheap reroll window before you commit to the kit.
- Arc 8 — Raid bosses in this range drop meaningful loot. If your best build cannot clear Arc 8 content, fix the trio before pushing further.
- Arc 10 — The post-game threshold. After Arc 10, the game transitions from story progression to prestige farming. This is where the question of “when to prestige” becomes real.
Boss farming after Arc 10
Once you reach Arc 10, the incremental loop changes. Story progression slows or stops, and the game becomes about optimizing your trio for maximum EXP rate and raid efficiency. This is the point where:
- Your Technique, Clan, and Trait should all be at least A-tier.
- The session checklist becomes essential for tracking optimization.
- Prestige becomes a legitimate option rather than a last resort.
Boss farming in the post-Arc 10 phase means running Arc 10 raid bosses repeatedly for loot that improves your trio. If you are farming Arc 10 bosses and still dying in phase 3, the problem is your best build, not your arc.
When to prestige based on arc
Prestige timing is covered in depth on the prestige page, but arc context matters:
- Before Arc 5 — Do not prestige. You have not seen enough of the roll table to know what you are protecting.
- Arc 6–9 — Consider prestige only if you have S-tier Technique and Clan and the training curve feels unbearable.
- Arc 10+ — This is the normal prestige window. You have seen the content, your slots are developed, and the compounding multiplier from a fresh run will shorten your next Arc 10 by roughly half.
Arc gating and quest chains
Some quests are arc-gated. A quest that asks you to defeat an Arc 8 boss will not advance if you are still in Arc 6, even if your Technique is capable. This is not a bug. It is the studio telling you to push arc progression first.
The correct order:
- Check which arc your current quest requires.
- Push arc progression if you are below the gate.
- Use EXP farm to close the gap faster.
- Return to the quest chain with enough power to clear the arc boss.
UPD 2 and arc changes
The August 2026 patch (UPD 2) may have adjusted arc scaling, boss HP, or quest rewards in the Arc 6–10 range. If you were farming comfortably before UPD 2 and suddenly feel weak at Arc 8, do not panic-reroll. Read the UPD 2 notes and test on a dummy before assuming the kit is dead.
Candescent Games has not published a public arc-by-arc HP table. Trust the in-game health bars and your own combat log, not a YouTube video filmed before UPD 2.
What we will not invent
We will not list specific boss names, Arc 10 HP thresholds, or story dialogue from the Candescent client unless Candescent Games publishes them in the game or the group shout. If a YouTube guide shows a boss name you have never seen in-game, you are watching a different Roblox title. Stay on this page and confirm in the live client.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What arc should I be on as a new player?
Arc 1–5 is the foundation phase. Push through quickly using EXP farm and the group EXP boost.
When does the progression wall hit?
Arc 6–10 is where most players feel the difficulty spike. Fix your best build before Arc 8 if you want to clear raid content.
Should I prestige at Arc 10?
Arc 10+ is the normal prestige window. Read the prestige page to understand what carries over before you commit.
Did UPD 2 change arc scaling?
Assume yes. Test on a dummy after reading UPD 2. Do not trust a pre-patch YouTube guide for Arc 8–10 content.
